The Anatolian Red Stag, also known as the "Mid-Eastern Red Stag" (Cervus elaphus maral), is as strong as the European ones. Old stags might have antler weights of 11 to 14 kilograms with a body weight of 300–350 kg. It is possible to come across exceptionally strong ones because the areas are now open to hunting for the first time in many years. Rutting time depends on the area, however, and these amazing creatures mainly have the rut around mid-September through mid-October.
