The Safe Tourism Certification Program was launched by Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism to set clear health-and-hygiene rules and precautions that tourism facilities must follow. It gives travelers a simple, reliable way to know that a hotel, restaurant or venue meets recognised standards of cleanliness and safety.
How the certification works
Businesses applying for the certificate are inspected by authorised, independent audit firms against health-and-hygiene standards aligned with international best practice. These inspections are not a one-off — they are repeated on a regular basis and formally recorded, so a certified business has to keep meeting the requirements over time.
- Independent inspections. Authorised audit firms assess each facility against defined health-and-hygiene criteria.
- Ongoing checks. Inspections are repeated regularly and the results are documented.
- Public listing. Certified businesses are published on the Ministry's official website.
- Full transparency. Every certificate carries a QR code that opens the complete inspection details.
How we use it
When our team builds a tour program, we prefer to work with businesses that hold a valid Safe Tourism Certificate. It is one more way we make sure the hotels, restaurants and venues on your itinerary are held to a standard you can trust — so you can simply enjoy your trip.
Our own Safe Tourism certificates are available on request. If you would like to see them or have any questions about how we select the venues on your tour, please contact us — we are always happy to help.
