5 Days Bitlis City & Cooking Tour

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and depart for Bitlis City Tour. We will see BITLIS CASTLE dating back to 4th cent BC that was built by the order of Alexander The Great. The castle is located at a steep slope overlooking the city. After that we will visit IHLASIYE MADRASA (Islamic theological school) which was built in ealy 13th cent AD by Seljuks. The madrasa has the major characteristics of Seljuklu Architecture Style. Next, we will visit BITLIS GRAND MOSQUE that was built in 12cent. and was renovated in1985. The structure is a good example of early mosques in the region. After that we will have free time for lunch and then will drive towards NEMRUT LAKE. The lake was formed as a result of volcanic activities back in the past. After taking photos of the spectacular view of the lake and enjoying the nature next stop will be AHLAT MUSEUM. Ahlat is considered to be the first Major Turkish City in Anatolia. Here we will not only see artifacts from Seljuk Era but also we will see artifacts from different historic time lines. Next we will visit one of the major historic places in the region, THE AHLAT SELJUKIAN GRAVEYARD that was founded on al large area. The graveyard is known as the biggest Turk – Islam Graveyard and has typical burial style of Central Asian Turkish Culture. After the tour transfer back to your hotel. Overnight Bitlis.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and depart to a local restaurant for your professional cooking lesson. You participate in your first Turkish cooking lesson: During our Bitlis Cooking Tour, you will taste various flavors of Bitlis Region and you will enjoy to cook & taste local food like Bitlis Meatballs, Buryan Kebap (local type of kebap), Stuffed Cabbage and such. After lunch you will depart to city center for free time and shopping before returning to your hotel. After the tour transfer back to your hotel. Overnight Bitlis.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from hotel for Hamam (Turkish Bath) Tour depending on your wish and available hours of Hamam. Turkish Bath is quite a popular part of Turkish Culture and it is being practiced all around the country therefore it will be nice to experience this activity. After the Hamam we will depart to city center for free time and shopping before returning to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight Bitlis.

After breakfast the day is yours till your departure transfer to Van Airport. We will transfer you to airport for your flight back home.
