Daily Ancient City of Troy Tour from Istanbul – Explore Legendary Archaeological Site

The ancient city of Troy lies at the foothills of Mount Ida, in the archaeological region now known as Hisarlik in Canakkale. The archaeological site is where the Trojan War, immortalized in Homer's Iliad, one of the two great poetic epics attributed to him, took place. It was discovered in the 1870s by amateur German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann and has been designated a World Heritage Site since 1998. On the field, visitors can see the replica of the horse, Pithos Garden, city walls, the Odeon, VIM Palace, and the Temple of Athena. Plus, the Troy Museum, which is a 10-minute walk, will be visited. The museum's collection has rare artifacts such as sculptures, sarcophagi, inscriptions, altars, milestones, Paleolithic axes and cutters, baked earthenware ceramics, metal pots, gold objects, weapons, coins, and bone artifacts that were discovered during Troy excavations over the past several decades.
