5 Days Adana & Antakya & Mersin Tour

You will be welcomed by a member of the TSG team when you arrive at the Adana Airport in Turkey. They will help you get to the hotel, where you can check in and get your key before spending the rest of the day exploring Adana. Spend the night in Adana.

Your tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Adana and a visit to Yilankale and then continue to Toprakkale and the Payas Sokollu Mehmet Pasa Complex, which includes a caravanserai, a Turkish bath, a madrasa, a mosque, and a covered bazaar. 

Next, the tour will arrive in Iskenderun, in Hatay Province, and enjoy a sightseeing tour. Following lunch, the most popular city attractions will be visited; Hatay Archaeology Museum, which houses a very exclusive mosaic collection (known as the Antakya Mosaic Museum), the Ulucami (Great Mosque) of Antakya, and the Church of Saint Peter. Overnight in Hatay-Antakya.

After breakfast, you will check out of your hotel and embark on the Antakya Tour. Along the way, you will visit two churches, one Catholic and one Orthodox, as well as the Jewish synagogue. You will have some free time for shopping where you can find a variety of goods such as textiles, handicrafts, spices, and traditional sweets before continuing on to Mersin for an overnight stay.

Today, we will take a City Tour of Mersin, visiting several historical sites such as the Gozlukule Mound, the first settlement of Tarsus, and various lodging and dwelling points from the past. We will also see the St. Paul Church Museum, the Tarsus Ulu Camii (Tarsus Grand Mosque), and the Tarsus Roman Ancient Road. Along the way, we will take a tea break at the Tarsus Waterfall and take a closer look at the historic houses of Tarsus, including those that have been restored with the help of Paul Well. As we tour the city, you will get a chance to experience the friendliness and hospitality of the locals. Next, we will visit Kanlidivane (Kantelis), Ancient City, known for its red soil and a legend of criminals being thrown into a sinkhole during Roman times. At lunch, we will have the chance to sample some of Mersin's delicious cuisine, including Tantuni, the local specialty. Overnight in Mersin.
