Embark on a full-day Ihlara Valley Tour from Cappadocia, one of the region’s most lush and tranquil landscapes. Ihlara is home to Asia Minor’s deepest gorge, carved by the Melendiz River, and was once a spiritual center for Christian monks who built rock-cut churches and dwellings into the steep valley walls.

After pick-up from your Cappadocia hotel, we’ll travel to Ihlara Village, where our journey begins. Depending on your preference and fitness level, you can choose from one of the following three hiking routes:

• 3.5 km walk – From the main entrance to Belisirma Village

• 7 km trek – From the beginning of the valley to Belisirma

• 14 km hike – A full-day experience from the canyon’s start to Selime Monastery

During your walk, you’ll discover:

• Cave churches with preserved Byzantine frescoes

• Ancient cave houses hidden among volcanic cliffs

• Panoramic viewpoints, fruit orchards, and the soothing sounds of the Melendiz River

Midway through our journey, we’ll stop in Belisirma Village for a delicious traditional Anatolian lunch at a riverside restaurant.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the majestic Selime Monastery, the largest rock-cut monastery in Cappadocia. Its high vantage point offers a stunning view of the entire valley and insight into early Christian architecture.
