Daily Aphrodisias Ancient City Tour from Pamukkale – Explore the Roman Legacy & Sculptures

Aphrodisias is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive ancient cities in Anatolia, known for its remarkably well-preserved ruins and exquisite Roman sculptures. Being built near a marble quarry, Aphrodisias became a major center for sculpture and art in the Roman period. The city was dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and named after her in the 2nd century BC. Excavations have been carried out since 1961, initiated by Professor Kenan Erim, who is buried near the Tetrapylon. During the tour, we will explore major highlights of the site including the grand Theatre, the elegant Baths of Hadrian, the impressive Tetrapylon, the Temple of Aphrodite, and the remarkably intact Stadium which could hold up to 30,000 spectators. We will also visit the Aphrodisias Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of sculptures and artifacts unearthed from the site. Next, we will stop by a local Carpet Center, as Aphrodisias is known for its traditional handwoven carpets.
